Common Questions

Vinyl Flooring FAQs

What's the difference between LVT, LVP, and sheet vinyl? +
LVP (Luxury Vinyl Planks) click together as a floating floor and mimic timber. LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tiles) are typically glued down and mimic stone, marble, or tile. Sheet vinyl is a single seamless roll, glued down across the full floor — the most budget-friendly and completely waterproof option.
Is vinyl flooring really waterproof? +
Yes — all vinyl flooring is 100% waterproof throughout. Unlike timber or laminate, spills and moisture won't damage the material itself. This makes vinyl ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, and any room prone to moisture.
How long does vinyl flooring last? +
Quality LVT and LVP typically lasts 15–25 years depending on traffic and care. Sheet vinyl generally lasts 10–20 years. All ranges come with manufacturer warranties.
Can I install vinyl flooring over my existing floor? +
In many cases yes — LVP can often float over existing hard surfaces provided the subfloor is level. Our quantifier will check your subfloor during the free measure to confirm what's possible.
How much does vinyl flooring cost in Auckland? +
Sheet vinyl starts from around $30–40/m² supplied, with LVP/LVT from around $50–80/m² depending on the range. The free in-home measure gives you an exact, all-inclusive quote. See our price guide for more detail.
Is vinyl flooring good for rentals? +
Vinyl is one of the most popular choices for rental properties — fully waterproof, scratch resistant, easy to clean, and available at a competitive price. Sheet vinyl is particularly common in kitchens and bathrooms, while LVP suits living areas and bedrooms.
How do I clean and maintain vinyl flooring? +
Sweep or vacuum regularly to lift grit. Mop weekly with a slightly damp mop — never soaking wet. Use a vinyl-appropriate cleaner and wipe spills straight away. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners or steam mops. We provide a care guide with every install.
Do you service all of Auckland? +
Yes. We're based in Whangaparāoa on the Hibiscus Coast and service the wider Auckland region, from the North Shore through to the city and beyond.
